This is our new calf, Kyle. If you follow me on Twitter, you'll remember that he was born during the presidential speech. He was totally worth watching it later on YouTube... cuteness like this just can't wait! Look at that adorable Brahma face! And those ears!
His daddy is a Brahma, and his mama is a BeefMaster.
It was the first time I had actually seen a calf being born... growing up, my parents always invited me to watch, but I was too busy doing important things, like sleeping, because livestock usually gives birth in the middle of the night, during a snow-storm, and I wasn't impressed.
While watching, I was having flashbacks to my favorite childhood book, All Creatures Great and Small, which opens on a calf being born. In a snow-storm. Consistent!
"C" is also for Chloe.
And "camera". Speaking of which, I'm not sure why my camera turns everything so orange in our office complex. My whiteout looked kinda golden, compared to everyone else's. Wait... is this turning into a Golden Calf blog? That can't be good.
