Do-it-yourself nail art is fast becoming one of my favorite things to experiment with, even though I stand by my previous statement about feeling a little uncomfortable having my nails painted. I think outlandishness helps, for some reason. It's like a free pass!
The zebra stripes were a pretty simple process. This is my first go-around, so I'll try and make more intricate lines next time, but I was pretty pleased with the results, considering my lack of skill. I used Berry Hard from essie as a base, with the Silver Sweep from Sally Hansen as the stripe. My paint brush was just a small detailing brush from the craft store... I probably wouldn't have combined these colors, but I was half-expecting it to be a disaster so I just grabbed something high-contrast to play around with. I'm excited to find something Memorial Day appropriate in time for the weekend, so let me know if you know of any fabulous fireworks tips.
